  Includes 30 hours of Classroom Instruction, the written permit test  and six hours Behind-the-Wheel training.

  Ten three-hour classroom sessions, designed for maximum flexibility and convenience, can be taken in any order as long as Sessions 9 and 10 are taken last. Includes in-depth and comprehensive instruction that covers defensive driving, traffic laws, controlling a car, zone of control, space cushion management, the SMOG technique, dealing with adverse conditions and emergencies, alcohol and drugs, responsibilities of operating a car, basic car maintenance and more.  We have an educational focus and the classroom style is interactive and confidence building rather than "fear based."  

  Three two-hour Behind-the-Wheel lessons are completed in a DriveSafe vehicle after the student has his/her permit and are ALWAYS one-on-one (students are never in the back seat "observing").  Driving instructors are professionally trained and instruction includes:  1-Car Control and Road Management, 2-Risk Management and 3-Advanced Safe Decision Making.  
  

  All drives can be tailored to the needs of the student.  For Manual Transmission training we recommend students complete the six hours in an automatic vehicle and then add at least one two hour stick drive to focus on learning how to integrate shifting the vehicle into their driving skill.   The best way to prepare a new driver is ongoing training. Our most comprehensive training program includes:

  30 hours of Classroom Instruction, the written permit test  and six hours Behind-the-Wheel training. ·      

  PLUS the driving test with a State Certified Tester at our Center

  PLUS  the six-hour Defensive Skills Day with life-saving maneuver training done in a controlled parking lot.

   

  PLUS an additional SIX HOURS one-on-one driving instruction (total 12 hours).  Our other programs meet the minimum legal requirement of SIX hours Behind-the-Wheel with a professional driving instructor. This program goes above and beyond by giving students more time with a driving instructor in a one-on-one learning experience. Instructors can expose students to a wider variety of environments and levels of complexity to round out their learning experience.

  Ideal for students with their permits who want to learn to drive a manual transmission (stick shift).  Consists of eight hours of private, one-on-one lessons with a professional driving instructor.  Four two-hour lessons can be all stick shift, or can include one stick shift drive paired with three drives in an automatic transmission vehicle. 

  The program includes:  1-Stick-Shift Handling, 2-Car Control and Road Management, 3-Risk Management and 4-Advanced Safe Decision Making.  All drives are tailored to the needs of the student.

• Behind the Wheel Two Plus Drive Test ($175)

   

  Two hour, one-on-one behind the wheel driving lesson with a professional driving instructor in a DriveSafe vehicle. This instruction is perfect for adults or teens who need to refresh their driving skills before the driving test.  The Driver’s Test in Colorado tests for over 100 items that most experienced drivers need to relearn. With a solid foundation you will then take your Driver's Test with one of our State Certified Testers. Customers love the option of testing at DriveSafe because it is less stressful, friendlier and faster than testing at a DMV office. Use your vehicle or ours (with no additional fee).

• Behind the Wheel Two ($125)

  New drivers benefit from additional driving instruction to prepare them for driving alone.  Instruction can be environment or situation specific like city, mountain, or highway driving. Do you want your student to learn to drive at night, in the snow or rain?

  Perfect  for adults who need to refresh their driving skills. Have you been experiencing difficulties in certain situations or been through a traumatic driving experience?

  Two-hours of instruction is one-on-one with a professional instructor. Some students even use the lesson to prepare for the driving test  or learn how to drive a manual (stick shift) transmission.  

  Greater Value Tip:  Drives can always be purchased in two-hour increments; however there is a price break if you purchase the Behind the Wheel Six program as a three drive package.

• One Hour Special Focus Drive ($75)

  Need help with night driving? Unsure about mountain driving challenges? Need to parrallel park or want an introduction to a stick shift vehicle?

  A one hour driving lesson with a professional driver's education instructor can polish up skills, focus on a specific driving need such as parallel parking, work on challenges in a certain driving environment or even prep for skills tested on the driver's test.

  A tremendous value and potentially life saving training experience! Defensive Skills Day covers skid control, driving "impaired" with drunk goggles, accident avoidance techniques, emergency stopping and car control, hands-on car maintenance and much more. Working one-on-one with instructors in their own vehicles, students practice maneuvers that cannot be taught during on-street lessons. Morning and afternoon snack and beverages are included; please bring lunch.

  Our potentially life-saving skills day training in a controlled environment with a drive test at a DriveSafe location.

   

  A six-hour day that helps students develop potentially life-saving driving skills for unusual circumstances.  Students are able to practice maneuvers that cannot be taught during on-street lessons. 

  Skills covered include: skid control, accident avoidance, emergency stopping and handling, driving in reverse, driving "impaired" with drunk goggles, hands-on car maintenance and more. Drinks and snacks are included.

   

  PLUS take your Drive Test with one of our State Certified Testers. Students and parents love the option of testing at DriveSafe because it is less stressful, friendlier and faster than testing at a DMV office. Use your vehicle or ours (with no additional fee).

• Driver's License Test for students ($40)

  DriveSafe students can complete the drive test portion of their licensing at any one of our conveniently located Centers. The benefits are convenience (we have Centers located throughout the metropolitan area), often no wait time for scheduling (most tests can be scheduled within 24 hours at one of our Centers) and a non-stressful environment.  We are friendly and provide great customer service!

  Our fee covers a single drive test. If you need to re-take your test you will need to purchase another one.

• Driver's License Test for non-students ($50)

  Take your Driver's Test with us! Students and adults can complete the drive test portion of their licensing at any one of our conveniently located Centers. The benefits for you are convenience (we have Centers located throughout the metropolitan area), often no wait time for scheduling (most tests can be scheduled within 24 hours at one of our Centers) and a non-stressful environment.  We are friendly and provide great customer service!

• Driver's License Test Refresher Behind the Wheel and Drive Test ($125)

  Perfect for adults or teens who need to refresh their driving skills before the driving test. The Driving Test in Colorado covers over 100 items which many seasoned drivers do not recall. A one-hour skills refresher identifies driving habits that are in violation of testing regulations and reviews the finer points of the rules of the road.

Driver Awareness Programs

• Driver Awareness Program ($89)

  A four-hour program, minimal instruction program, designed to qualify students who are 15 1/2 and older for their learner's permit.  Contains abbreviated lessons taught in our Classroom Course, but should not be considered the equivalent of a comprehensive driver's education program.  Students should review the Colorado Driver's Handbook prior to class. Includes permit test.  This class will often qualify for adults who need to reduce their points.  Discuss this with a DriveSafe manager. Class dates and locations are listed in the lower right-hand column of this page and on all class schedules. Note locations since they vary.

• Driver Awareness Plus Two ($199)

  Driver Awareness Plus Two      

  (Combines Class Training and Behind The Wheel for Better Preparation for Your Student) 
  

  A four-hour program designed to qualify students who are 15 1/2 and older for their learner's permit and introduce them to fundamental car control and road management skills. By combining the Driver Awareness Program with a Behind-the-Wheel lesson with a professional instructor, students link the concepts taught in class with the behind-the-wheel experience.

  4 Hour Driver Awareness contains abbreviated lessons taught in our Classroom Course, but should not be considered the equivalent of a comprehensive driver's education program.  Students should review the Colorado Driver's Handbook prior to class. Includes permit test.  This class will often qualify for adults who need to reduce their points.  Discuss this with a DriveSafe Staff Member. 

  Once students get their permit, they can schedule a two hour, one-on-one behind-the-wheel lesson with a professional driving instructor. Students will learn the fundamentals of safe driving and road management.
  

Other Programs

• Classroom Program ($189)

  Classroom Course

  Ten-session, 30 hour Classroom Course covering much more training than is required by the State on concepts critical to becoming a safe driver including driving in adverse conditions, the impact of alcohol on driving, understanding the zone of control, space cushion management and much more.

  Students take classes in any order, as long as Session 10 is saved for last. 

  We strongly recommend completing six-hours Behind-the- Wheel instruction (this is a legal requirement for most teens). During the six hours Behind-the-Wheel instruction students put into practice what they have learned during the classes.  Our professionally trained driving instructors are comfortable challenging students and exposing them to more complex areas such as major arterials, Capitol Hill, downtown, mountains, night driving, etc.  This is difficult for most parents.

  Take advantage of remarkable savings ( of up to $163) by registering your child for one of our Comprehensive Programs.

  Greater Value Tip:  Most insurance companies will only give a discount if both the Classroom and Behind-the-Wheel instruction are completed.

• Written Permit Test ($15)

  Written Permit Test

  The permit test is included for free in our Comprehensive programs, but anyone wishing a permit test only is welcome to take it at a DriveSafe center for only $15. If you fail this test the first time, you can retake the test that same day at no extra charge, or return another day for an additional $15. You can only take the permit test with us two times; the third test MUST be taken at the DMV.

• Senior Evaluation ($99)

   

  Senior Evaluation                                 

   Great for Seniors  and their families who want to be sure they are still driving safely.  Includes a 45-minute drive with a professionally trained and experienced instructor, a brief meeting with that instructor (and family members, if desired) as well as written recommendations.  Excellent in helping older drivers sharpen their skills.
  

  A Senior Evaluation starting from our office is $99.

  If you need a Home Pickup and drop off, the cost is $109.

  Do you need help getting to and from your behind-the-wheel lesson? Or maybe you just need the convenience with your son or daughter of a home pickup. Our home pickup program takes care of the hassle of getting to and from your driving lesson with a pre-scheduled lesson that begins and ends at your home or an agreed upon location. Our professional drive instructor will meet the student for the lesson, complete the lesson and return to the pickup location all for a nominal cost. Add this to any lesson package. This is our single drive Home Pickup package including one pickup and dropoff.
